Log out of and quit Origin.The Sims Forums. If you have Origin open but your game won’t load, quit Origin then try launching the game again from the Sims 4 icon in your Applications folder. Open Origin, click on your games library, right click on The Sims 4 and select Repair Game. The installation discs in all packaged editions of The Sims 4 are not Mac compatible, but players who buy a packaged PC-only version can still redeem the code in the box to access the Mac version through Origin.
The Sims 4 for Mac is a digital-only release.
Do the same for the Tray, Mods and Screenshots folders. Open the Sims 4 folder you moved to the desktop then the saves folder. Launch the game to the main menu then quit. Move your Sims 4 folder to the desktop (this resets it back to default settings but all your data is safe in the folder you moved). Sims 4 now works on macOS Catalina – Patch 1.56. Now open Origin, click on The Sims 4 in your Games Library and click on Download. Right click on The Sims 4 and select Move to Trash. In your Applications folder right click on the Sims 4 app and select Show Package Contents. For this issue you need to move the Sims 4 folder to the desktop from Documents > Electronic Arts then attempt to launch the game so a new one is created. Here are some tips to help with this error: 1. This error usually means that the computer seems to think It’s already running Sims 4, even if it’s not.
Restart the computer and try updating the game or downloading the DLC again to see if Origin automatically starts downloading any free and/or owned content. The onlinethumbnailcache folder is safe to delete IF it is present. cache, but do not delete the actual directory. Go inside the cache folder and delete all files that end in.
